iOFT Returns Successfully To Tokyo

RX Japan and Fukui Optical Association held the 35th edition of the INTERNATIONAL OPTICAL FAIR TOKYO (iOFT) at Tokyo Big Sight at the end of October. Since Japan has fully eased its border control many international visitors and exhibitors were back at the 2022 iOFT with excitement.

iOFT featured 178 exhibitors and over 7,000 visitors for its 35th Anniversary show. With the return of international travel, iOFT was able to feature a French, Koran, and Taiwanese Pavillion. The latest design and technologies were showcased at iOFT 2022 and received a lot of attention from visitors/buyers on site.

After a 3-year absence, iOFT cordially invited international buyers from the USA, Canada, Italy, Saudi Arabia, India, Australia, China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Korea, Malaysia, Singapore, and the Philippines as premium buyers to the show. iOFT offered on-site interpreters, business matching with exhibitors, VIP lounge, hotel accommodation, and visa support as privileges of being the premium buyer. International premium buyers were able to source the latest collections and placed orders on-site which made a great recovery in their international business.

To set the trends for the coming season, the eyewear design award 26th Japan Eyewear Award (JEA) 2023 was held and the winners and Grand-Prix winners of the design category and technology category were awarded. A variety of entries polished in all aspects including functionality and design were considered. After strict screening conducted by the Japan Eyewear Award committee, 10 award-winning products were announced. The award has been receiving worldwide attention, all judges affirmed to spare no effort to screen and support, for development and prosperity of eyewear design.
