To access the tinnitus service, does a patient need to have had an ENT appointment first?
No
If no, how does a patient arrange to be seen at your tinnitus service
If the patient has hearing which is the same in each ear, and the tinnitus is in both ears at an equal intensity then a direct access appointment is possible. For patients with a hearing loss in just one ear or one ear has worst hearing or the tinnitus is just in one ear then the GP will refer to the ENT and maybe to the audiology tinnitus clinic at the same time

Tinnitus patients are offered the following:
- Mindfulness
- Relaxation exercises
- Full written information is given and cognitive behaviour therapy is talk through, but guided sessions are not on offer, mindfulness, relaxation, the importance of healthy lifestyle is covered.
