Our project, funded by National Lottery Awards for All Wales, aimed to increase opportunities for peer-support in Wales and train people up to understand more about tinnitus and what can be done to help people manage it well.
The project has led to:
Six new tinnitus support groups launching across Wales
55 people trained in tinnitus group facilitation and tinnitus management.
Attendees’ confidence in speaking with people about their tinnitus grew from 4 out of 10 to 8 out of 10.
Stronger relationships established between the BTA and local hearing organisations, hospitals and audiologists.
Although the funding has now ended, the work certainly hasn’t! There are still plenty more opportunities for new support groups to form and we continue to work with key stakeholders across the country to ensure more people have access to peer support.
