Alan Hopkirk, audiologist and Clinical Director of The Invisible Hearing Clinic, tells all:
Established in 2000 at Kenilworth Medical Centre, Cumbernauld, we opened our flagship clinic in Glasgow in 2011. We continue to provide a friendly patient-centered approach to auditory care from these clinics, offering independent expertise in tinnitus treatment, discreet and complex hearing solutions, auditory rehabilitation and maintenance. We ensure our commitment to maintaining the highest levels of awareness of developments in tinnitus and related conditions such as hyperacusis by regularly attending national and international tinnitus research conferences and seminars, as well as organising the well-respected THIS (Tinnitus & Hearing Information Show) in Glasgow, which promotes awareness of tinnitus and provides information from leading figures in the tinnitus community. We also facilitate the Glasgow and West of Scotland, Gold Standard-BTA Tinnitus Support Group which is a free to attend resource for those affected by tinnitus.
We are passionate about our business which is focused on providing the best audiological care to our patients. Tinnitus support is a core area of this. It is only natural that we should support and promote the British Tinnitus Association, an organisation which is also passionate in its support of the tinnitus community. The BTA is at the forefront of promoting research for a cure as well as promoting awareness of effective treatments available here and now. They are facilitators of the UK Tinnitus Support Group network of which we are affiliated and we are proud to be associated with such a worthwhile charity and their mission.
