opti Munich Pricing Remains Unchanged
Energy, staff, materials. These are challenging times, and the surrounding costs for trade shows are also rising. Bettina Reiter, Exhibition Director of opti (13 to 15 January 2023, Fairground Munich), explains what this means for the international trade show for optics & design and what exhibitors can rely on.
A current survey by a German national daily newspaper among the largest event companies in the country revealed that participating in trade shows will become “foreseeably more expensive” as a result of the energy crisis.
Bettina Reiter said “Our exhibitors can rest assured that our 2023 prices will not change for the next opti. I can promise that we will not be passing on the additional costs which are calculated for running the Fairground via an energy flat rate.”
“Trusting exchange is part of our profile, we want to ensure clarity for the next event at every step of the way. Now that people have lost some of the fear of Covid and there will not be any more lockdowns or canceled trade shows according to the new Protection against Infection Act, we want to make a proper new start again together. We, unfortunately, have no influence over general price increases by service providers or hotels, for example, which the exhibitors organise themselves. We are, however, together with Messe München GmbH, making every effort to ensure that service providers do not make any short-notice adjustments to their prices, wherever possible”, continued Reiter.
opti 2023 will be held from 13 to 15 January at its usual start of the year date and with its well-established concept in halls C1 to C4 at the Fairground Munich. When asked about the expected short supply of natural gas, Bettina Reiter said “Of course, we as trade show organizers also want to and need to save energy. But this does not mean the longed-for winter edition of opti requires a thick coat and a fur hat. We will be reducing the temperature in the halls from around 21 degrees to 19.5 degrees (70 F to 67 F) and will thus still be above the 19 degrees prescribed in the current heating period for public buildings and offices.
